Just left the studio.
10 songs down the hatch.... don't like any of them.
I like some of them.
They are fine.
This is great.
Wait.
Banging my head against the wall. Rough weeks behind me. Rough weeks ahead.
American Swimming Lesson is huge metal.....
don't know about the bridge yet.
Went outside for a smoke. Too cold.
I just think better when I'm smoking... especially when it comes to arrangements.
Lift another glass, break another bottle.

What does this year hold for us I wonder??
Too many thoughts clamoring to find their way to the center where it all makes sense in some sort of backwards rational of forward motion.
Breaks are good...even if they aren't very long. I was hoping to feel refreshed after this one but alas have not. I have so many songs bouncing around in my hazy brain and no direction to speak of. We're about to go into the studio for three weeks and at this point I feel as though the path ahead it wrought with weeds and unspeakable fat that is in desperate need of trimming.
Creation is a process and requires petting, soothing, beating, and sometimes even killing to achieve an end result worth putting a stamp of any kind on. Cheers to that I say!
The song I am most excited about right now is Everything Starts Where it Ends.... it will be beautifully honest and so unforgiving... lush with power yet weak with the inability to move out of the way from the impending doom that befalls us all in the end..... OR at least that how it sounds in my head... holy hell! We have never even played these songs together as a band yet! They've been in my brain and now they're abut to leak out onto the forever unforgiving format of digital media...shit.
The battle begins.
I love it.
